HOW IT WORKS?
Thousands of micro channels are created during treatment in order to heal and speed up the process of skin rejuvenation meaning smoother, healthy, and younger looking skin.
There are three phases involved in the wound-healing process:
Phase I (Inflammation phase) – The piercing of the skin triggers a response in your immune system which disinfects the wounds, increases blood flow and initiates new tissue formation.
Phase II (Proliferation phase) – A new network of blood vessels develop in addition to wound rebuilding involving new granulation cells.
Phase II (Remodelling phase) – The wound is replaced with new blood vessels and Dermal tissues.
In turn this creates, smoother, evenly textured and more balanced skin.

WHAT DOES THE SKINPEN TREATMENT INVOLVE?
PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT:
A topical anaesthetic will be applied prior to the treatment for additional comfort.
THE PROCEDURE:
One of our Skin Experts will carefully assess your skin to establish if you are a candidate and will thoroughly explain the procedure, risks and benefits prior to treatment.
The SkinPen is carefully glided across the area of concern using the Skinfuse LIFT HG (Allergy free from cytotoxic) to create hundreds of microscopic puncture wounds which stimulates the natural repair process and activates collagen and elastin production. Erythema should be visible with possible signs of blood spotting; this gives us indication that the depth is at its correct point in order to penetrate deep enough into the skin.
POST TREATMENT:
Full aftercare & homecare will be discussed following treatment. You will take home a treatment kit including a mild cleanser, Skinfuse LIFT HG & RESCUE Calming complex which will help support remodelling your skin. The treatment area can be red and warm for 24 to 48 hours post treatment but most patients see a reduction in erythema after 24 hours of treatment.

Q: Are facials worth it?
A: Investing in YOU should always be worth it! Each treatment is completely bespoke to design your ‘glow’ treatment.
By choosing what you want & need from each facial, once you’ve had one treatment, we promise you will see just how worthwhile a facial really is!
Q: Are facials good for acne?
A: YES!
Very good infact, but its choosing the right one for each individual! If it is active acne & on medication (roacuttane/ Retin A)- we will need to begin with soothing, hydrating and oil controlling treatments to help smooth, reduce irritation & prevent breakouts. This will cool, calm & generally give your skin a fresh look and feel! (A doctor’s note may be needed in severe cases!)
If it is milder acne/ adult acne/ problematic & congested skin and no medication is being taken- then we can look at alternative facials to suit – each treatment is customised to each client at the time of appointment to achieve the best results.
Q: Are facials safe for pregnant women?
A: Yes, our Murad Facials & Skinceuticals facials Hands on Treatments are safe during pregnancy & nursing mothers. Using professional products designed to hydrate, nourish & condition the skin during pregnancy whilst allowing chill time for the expecting mother.
Each treatment is bespoke, though common pregnancy concerns such as acne/congested skin and/or dark spots & chloasma pigmentation marks will need to be managed correctly as products containing high-doses of salicylic acid, vitamin A & retinoids/retinols will not be used. Our skincare therapists will be able to discuss this during the pre treatment consultation.
Q: How long do the benefits of a facial last?
A: Here at Seiva, results can be achieved in one treatment and have lots of long lasting benefits such as smooth, clear & super hydrated complexion with that GLOW lasting up to 3/4wks.
Q: How often should I have a facial?
A: Every 3 to 4 weeks is the general rule of thumb for maintenance & regular facial treatments as this will give you the greatest results, though homecare and daily product use will ensure optimum long lasting results.
For specific treatment of skin concerns such as acne/pigmentation/skin firming & toning a weekly/bi-weekly treatment for a period of 6wks will be most effective.
